John Gengler

John has 13 years of coaching experience and is the current Head Coach at Waunakee High School. He is a two-time Badger Conference Coach of the Year and has led his teams to four undefeated conference championships, a 2023 state runner-up finish, and two state championships (2021 and 2025). An elementary school gym teacher, John specializes in defensive coordination and player development. He coaches because he believes lacrosse is the ultimate team sport, and he takes pride in helping players grow as both athletes and teammates.
